My name is Omar, a Mexican General Tourist Guide with a BS degree in Business Administration. My License allows me to do tours at a National Level in Mexico. I have travelled and lived in different parts of my beautiful, mega-diverse, and multicultural country, with the purpose of discovering interesting places. Most of my experience is based on cultural and nature tours in the southeast of Mexico (Quintana Roo, Yucatan, and Chiapas) and lately in Puerto Vallarta and surrounding areas. Honestly, I am in love with our Mexican Folklore and wish to show it to the world!
Come for a walk along the Malecón and let´s head toward the Romantic Zone. The main idea is for you to get familiar with the variety of clubs and bars available in both areas, so you can decide where to spend the rest of your night afterwards. This tour is a blend of walking and culture, for you will learn a little bit of history and about certain Colonial or Pre-Hispanic Drinks, found at the Boardwalk or Romantic Zone.
After the experience, you will be able to find the best locations to enjoy salsa, pop, and some other rhythms in this area. Moreover, we will pass by places where they have karaoke, cabaret shows, go-go dancers, as well as, some R-Rated Spots (We are not getting in!); Everything is in a safe environment! Additionally, you will manage to find the best street food, a place where most nightclubbers go after clubbing...
Some Places that We are going to Pass By: Main área of night clubs and bars at the Malecón, Letters of Vallarta, Main Square, Church, Snack Section of Malecon, Bridge of Rio Cuale, Lázaro Cárdenas Park, Los Muertos Pier, Basilio Badillo Street, Olas Altas Street, The Street Taco Section, as well as, The Heart of Clubs and Bars in Zona Romantica.
IMPORTANT:
*** The tour starts at the beginning of Malecón and will end up in the Romantic Zone.
*** Tour Starts at 8:30 PM; unless agreed in a different time or Place!
*** Lately, I have had several No Shows. I live an hour away from the meeting point; when I am late, I take an Uber! please be considerate and cancel at least 2 hours before if planning not to go, so I do not bother in getting ready...
*** I WILL SHOW YOU STRAIGHT AND LGBTQ CLUBS OR BARS: I MIGHT HAVE A MIXED GROUP, RESPECT IS DEMANDED!!!
The meeting Point is outside of McDonald's, by the bench, there is an almond tree next to it. Diagonally across from McDonald's there is the Rosita Hotel. I usually wear a cap and most likely I will have a backpack!
At the beginning, I will introduce myself and briefly explain what to expect in this walking tour.
I will tell you a little bit of history of the boardwalk and its decoration.
As we are walking on the Malecon, l will point out at the different bars, clubs, and points of interest located there and near streets.
Eventually, we will pass by the iconic Sea Horse/Letters of Vallarta, Main Square, Church, Open Theater and Snack Section.
Furthermore, will stop and explain and/or possibly taste a colonial or prehispanic drink if found there.
Before we get to the Romantic Zone (RZ), we are stopping at the Rio Cuales' Bridge and point out at the island and some interesting spots.
Once in the RZ, we are visiting the Lázaro Cárdenas' Park and will explain events done on that area.
After that, we are moving to the Pier of the Dead and will point out at some other intriguing places and about the history of why it is called the beach of the dead.
Then we will walk on Olas Altas and Basilio Badillo Streets and will continue pointing out at certain interesting places. Everyting combined with annecdotes and special events held in certain areas...
Eventually we are visiting the Street Tacos Section and end up at the heart of the clubs and bars of the Romantic Zone, but not before explaining and pointing out at the many clubs located there and giving certain recommendations...
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
