We learned a lot about the art of making tortillas, all the many different tacos available throughout the day, and the neighborhoods of Puerto Vallarta. And, he speaks excellent English. You will have a full belly by the end of this tour! We'll be taking other tours offered by Memo.

This seafood walking tour with Memo was fantastic! The variety of foods we got to try were things we wouldn't have found on our own, even through we live in Mexico half the year. Our guide was social and friendly and the time flew right by. I'd definitely recommend this tour and I wouldn't hesitate to go on another one of his tours myself.

We have taken walking tours in many places around the world and we've never thought of taking one in Puerto Vallarta. I wish we had met Memo and engaged his company, vallarta101.com long ago. He's lived here for 14 years, knows all of the restaurant owners by first name. He is very familiar with the dishes and the ingredients. He also frequents these restaurants in his off time, buys food, and sometimes takes it home. He lives within a few blocks of the food tour stops so we were in his hood. We enjoyed how he started us off at a sidewalk shop with fresh grilled marlin, then moved to fresh oysters on the beach (delicious), then cerviche tostada sitting down in a restaurant, then more seafood tostadas sitting down in another restaurant and then closed it out at a family owned ice cream shop where they had ice cream, gelato, sorbet and different kinds of popsicles. We did the "seafood tour" and while we ate sparingly at each place, we were full by the time it ended 2.5 hours later. I'm 240 lbs and have a good appetite so that tells you there was ample food. We paid the cost of the food as we moved from place to place. Memo specializes in great food at very reasonable prices; cerviche tostadas for 20 pesos etc. our total cost for food and non-alcoholic drinks was about 500 pesos ($50 USD) for me and my wife. We tipped Memo generously for his great tour but also because it wound up costing so little. One more thing. We now know 4 good places to eat that are family owned and that have been around for decades. But Memo shared his other favorite items on the menus which we are eager to go back and try. So if you are here for a week or more, take Memo's tour early so you have time to go back on other days to enjoy more fine food for low, low prices. Fue excelente, iniciamos puntuales con un desyuno mexicano y luego caminamos porla zona antigua de Puerto Vallarta. I highly recommend everyone to start off their trip with this tour with Memo! Even though I was the only person he still arrived and gave me a private tour of all of the same taco joints that has been there for generations. These taco stands are not and the tourist parts of the city, which is what true traveling is about- getting the local experience! He was very professional and educated, and you could tell that all the locals love him. I’m doing another tour with him and I’m excited for that seafood tour as well.

Every taco we had was top notch. We learned some great places to return to during our stay. Memo was considerate, knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. We learned a lot about food culture in PV. Didn’t have to walk too far between places and we were able to sit at all of them (other times might be busier). We visited 4 places and spent 25-40 MXN for each taco. Very affordable. Come hungry!

We have us Guru Walk many times all over Europe. Memo's Vallarta 101 was the best Guru Walk that we ever had. He did a wonderful tour!! He made lots of suggest for thing to do and we did most of them. Very helpful on places to eat at, I would differently do another tour with Memo.

We had a great time touring Puerto Vallarta with Memo. He took us to great local restaurants with the freshest seafood at very reasonable prices. My son even enjoyed eating raw oysters which was a total surprise for us! I wish we had more time to do the Taco Tour - we will for sure return and do more tours with Memo!
