Description
Discover a different side of Istanbul on this unique walking tour starting in the heart of the modern city and ending by the Bosphorus.
We begin at Republic Monument in Taksim Square, where I will be waiting with a white flag.
From there we walk along the famous Istiklal Avenue, one of the most vibrant streets in the city, while exploring its hidden historic passages such as Flower Passage, European Passage and Syrian Passage.
Along the way we visit the lively Fish Market and the famous street Nevizade, Galatasaray. Home of passionate football supporters and traditional taverns.
We will also walk past the legendary hotels where travelers from the Orient Express once stayed, including Pera Palace Hotel and Grand Hotel de Londres, famous for hosting visitors such as Agatha Christie and Ernest Hemingway.
We continue past the former U.S. Consulate Building Beyoğlu, today known as Soho House Istanbul, before walking down towards the iconic Galata Tower for a great photo stop.
The route then leads us past the historic Karaköy and a small hidden gem, the Istanbul Cat Museum.
From there we stroll down to Galata Bridge for beautiful views and photos before exploring the streets of Karaköy, where we visit a rare Turkish Orthodox Church and walk through at Güllüoglu what many locals consider the best baklava in the city.
Our final stop is Galataport Istanbul, the new modern waterfront hub where millions of cruise passengers arrive every year. A picture by the bosphorus as a memory and Arrivederci
