Guiding since 2022
Hi everyone! My name is Kasia — it’s so nice to meet you, and welcome to the tour. Before we begin, I’d love to say a few words about myself. I’m originally from Poland, born and raised here in Kraków. I spent several years living in London, where I worked mainly in tourism-related fields — gastronomy, hospitality, and even in a museum. I graduated from Middlesex University in London with a degree in International Tourism Management. While studying, I discovered the idea of free walking tours, and I absolutely loved it. Even back then, I dreamed of becoming a tour guide. My tutors and friends often told me I had a natural way with people and a real passion for sharing stories. Still, I decided to first build my professional experience in the hotel industry. Tourism and connecting with travelers have always been very close to my heart. That’s one of the reasons I spent so much time abroad — to learn languages, experience different cultures, and meet people from all over the world. I also love travelling myself. At one point, I lived in Spain, near Barcelona, in a town called Sant Cugat del Vallès, where I worked in the automotive industry for about seven months. When I moved back to Poland — I truly amazed by how much the country has changed and how quickly it’s developing. I started reading more, exploring my surroundings, and attending history classes. Kazimierz has always been a very special place for me, and during the tour, you’ll understand why. Before we start, just a quick note about the tour format. This is a donation-based tour, which means you decide the value of the experience at the end. Free tours don't have a fixed price. At the end, each person contributes to the guide the amount they consider fair based on their satisfaction. As a guideline, Guruwalk recommends between €15 and $50 per participant.

Remuh SynagogueThe Remuh Synagogue was built in 1553 by the banker Israel Isserles ben Josef at the back of his property as a private house of prayer for his family and friends. It was the second Jewish synagogue established in Kazimierz—after the Old Synagogue—which is why it was often called the "New Synagogue." That’s why its history is well worth knowing.

Outside visit
Jan Karski MonumentJan Karski (1914–2000) was born in Poland (Lodz) and was a Polish diplomat, soldier, and courier for the Polish Underground State during World War II. He is recognized as one of the most important witnesses of the Holocaust, being among the first to deliver detailed reports to the Allies about the Nazi extermination of Jews.
