Night Visit to Medina Azahara

We offer you an exclusive tour where you will uncover the secrets, legends, and hidden corners of this palatial city, commissioned by Abd al-Rahman III, the first caliph of al-Andalus.

The visit begins at the Reception Center, where we will check in. From there, we will head to the museum, which houses some of the most valuable pieces found in the excavations. These objects will help you imagine the grandeur of Medina Azahara in its heyday.

Afterwards, we will move to the archaeological site, the exact place where the majestic Shining City once stood. Walking through its ruins is like going back more than a thousand years in time.

To conclude, you will enter the auditorium on your own, where an excellent 3D recreation of what the city was like is projected. The film lasts 20 minutes and is shown on the hour and half-hour. It's an ideal way to complete the visit and better understand the magnitude of this historic place.

Admission is free for European Union citizens. If you are not, the price is €1.5. 

To reach the site, it is mandatory to take a shuttle bus. This service costs €3 per person. Seniors over 65 and children aged 5 to 10 pay €1.5, while children under 5 travel for free.

If you do not have your own vehicle to go to the Archaeological Complex, don't worry, there are several options:

1. Direct route from Córdoba:  

- Official Bus.

- Taxi.

2. Route with different stops.

- Aucorsa Line O1: drops you off about 700 m away, and you will need to walk to reach the Archaeological Complex.

In summer, the experience becomes even more special: visits are conducted at night, with the city illuminated under the stars. During this season, only the site is visited, as the Visitor Center remains closed.
