Tour description

There are quite a few people who claim, without any shame, that Santa Cruz de Tenerife is "not all that." Fortunately, they couldn't be more wrong because it is "a lot." And in this tour, we are going to prove it!

From a port of humble fishermen to the capital of the island, Santa Cruz holds countless stories within its streets. In this guided tour, we will discover many of them, featuring pirates, generals, and everyday locals. A pleasant 2-hour route that will fly by. Promise.

The starting point will be Plaza de España, and we will end at Plaza de la Candelaria with the following stops:

- San Cristóbal Castle Interpretation Center (interior only on morning tours)
- Church of La Concepción

- Barranco de Santos

- Calle la Noria
- Guimerá Theater
- Plaza del Chicharro
- Plaza del Príncipe de Asturias
- Church of San Francisco

- Plaza de la Candelaria

Why are the locals called "chicharreros"? What are escaldón de gofio and the island dispute? Why did the city's parish priest write to the Pope? And why is Carnival not just a festival in this city, but something much more?
