Two faces of Zagreb modernity - Art Nouveau and Art Déco
Tour description
After more than 400 GuruWalk tours ('Zagreb beyond the guidebooks' that covers old Upper town) and with over 2000 satisfied walkers, I decided to start with the second tour, as well. And here it is :-)
This is an unique walking tour of another Zagreb historical part - Lower Town
At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, European and American urban culture gave birth to two stylistic expressions – Art Nouveau and Art Déco.
Art nouveau is recognized by its wavy, natural lines that imitate a flower at the moment of blooming, while Art déco brings cooler symmetry, glamor and strictness of geometric shapes.
Let’s walk together through the complex of parks and squares called “Green horseshoe” to see the best examples of Art Nouveau and Art Déco styles in Zagreb.
Discover how the life of Zagreb citizens was at that time in comparison with a modern one.
