Stories I Heard from Hiroshima Survivors as a Peace Ambossador

Our tour focuses on changing your perspective.

In this tour, we explore themes related to peace and war together, using various historical facts as a starting point for discussion and reflection.

There are no “correct” answers to these topics.

Our goal is not to tell you what to think, but to help you rethink and reshape your own ideas by looking at different facts and viewpoints.

We do not talk only about Hiroshima.

We also connect the discussion to war in general and to other aspects of Japanese history and society.

This is not a tour that simply says, “Nuclear weapons should be abolished.”

It is a tour that asks deeper and sometimes uncomfortable questions.

Example Themes

 • What is true peace?

 • Is nationalism a good thing?

 • Do nuclear weapons actually contribute to peace?

 • Is the world more peaceful now than it was in the past?

Example Narratives

 • Why Hiroshima?

 • Were Japanese people only victims, or were they also perpetrators?

There are many other themes and stories, but we invite you to discover them by joining the tour.

We will walk through Peace Memorial Park while thinking together.

We also plan to include free time, during which you can:

 • Listen to explanations about specific monuments

 • Take photos freely

 • Spend time reflecting on your own

This flexibility is one of the strengths of our tour.

We look forward to meeting you!!

I have lived in Hiroshima for over 20 years and I truly love this beautiful and historical city. Many visitors only see Miyajima and the Peace Park, but Hiroshima has so much more to offer. As a two-time Peace Ambassador of Hiroshima, I have long shared the importance of peace with people from around the world. Through my tours, I reveal the hidden stories behind the monuments of the Peace Park, using photos and storytelling to bring history to life. With my group Wa SHOCK, I also create unique cultural experiences that will surprise and inspire you. My mission is to give you not just information, but a deeper, unforgettable connection to Hiroshima and Japanese culture.
