Free Tour Secrets and Legends of Gerona
Tour description
At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at the central Plaça de Sant Feliu, right by the picturesque Onyar River, to begin this fascinating free tour through the mysteries and legends of Girona.
Our first stop will be the famous Lioness’s Bottom, a quirky sculpture that hides a story as unusual as it is amusing. We’ll then continue to some of the city’s most emblematic landmarks, such as Sant Narcís’ House and Plaça dels Jurats. Do they also conceal their own mysteries? We’ll find out soon enough!
Next, we’ll walk past the Arab Baths of Girona, where we’ll uncover the most enigmatic tales surrounding this ancient site. From there, we’ll head to the impressive Cathedral of Santa Maria, before taking Carrer de Sant Llorenç to enter El Call, the city’s former Jewish Quarter — one of the best-preserved in Europe.
Among narrow streets filled with history, we’ll reveal new legends as we pass by Lance Armstrong’s House and the iconic Pujada de Sant Domènec. We’ll then stroll along the lively Rambla de la Llibertat to reach the photogenic Pont de les Peixateries Velles, designed by none other than Gustave Eiffel.
To wrap up our journey, we’ll admire the colorful houses along the Onyar River and end this captivating hour-and-a-half walking tour at the elegant Plaça de la Independència.
