Cyberpunk Chongqing Walking Tour with a Licensed Local Guide

Explore the legendary mountain city of Chongqing on this immersive walking tour led by a licensed local English-speaking guide.

We’ll begin at the Apple Store Jiefangbei, in the vibrant commercial heart of the city, then walk to the People’s Liberation Monument to discover the historical center of modern Chongqing. Standing in the center of Jiefangbei, this iconic landmark is a symbol of modern Chongqing and an important part of the city’s history.

Next, we’ll visit Kuixing Tower, one of the city’s most fascinating architectural landmarks. From its famous sky bridge, you’ll enjoy a surprising view of Chongqing’s layered urban landscape and unique vertical city design.

We’ll then head to the spectacular Hongyadong, where traditional stilt-style architecture rises dramatically above the riverbank. This is one of Chongqing’s most iconic landmarks and one of the best places to experience the city’s distinctive atmosphere, architecture, and unforgettable skyline.

After that, we’ll continue to Chaotianmen and Raffles City, where the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers meet. With its open river views, dramatic city scenery, and lively surroundings, this area is one of the best places to feel the energy of Chongqing. Guests who prefer a shorter and more relaxed experience can choose to end the tour here, with easy access to dinner, coffee, milk tea, and the metro.

For guests who still have the energy to continue, we can extend the experience to the Liziba Viewing Platform, one of Chongqing’s most famous photo spots, where you can watch the light rail pass directly through a residential building — a truly unique scene that has become one of the city’s most iconic sights.

As Liziba is located around 5 kilometers from the Chaotianmen area, we usually take a taxi there for convenience and to save time. Due to Chongqing’s mountainous terrain and complex roads, walking there would take at least 2 hours, while a taxi ride usually takes around 20 minutes. The taxi cost is self-paid, and I will accompany the group throughout the journey.

Along the way, I’ll share local stories, cultural insights, and the best photo spots. I’m also happy to offer personalized local recommendations, including authentic Chongqing food, unique bars, and extra route suggestions to help you explore more of the city beyond the tour.

The walking tour usually lasts between approximately 2 hours 15 minutes and 3 hours 30 minutes, depending on the group size, walking pace, photo stops, and whether guests choose to continue to the optional Liziba extension.

Depending on the starting time, weather, and city conditions, you may experience different sides of Chongqing’s atmosphere and cityscape throughout the walk.
