Description
This free and tip-based walking tour will take place in the old medieval town of Luxembourg, with its suggestive walking paths that stretch up to the lower part of the city and its river, accompanied by the story of this beautiful place.
The country of Luxembourg, today a hallmark of European institutions, carries a surprisingly important role in Medieval history, being at the center of politics, which dominated Central Europe, between emperors' elections, power struggles, and strategic marriages.
Following its period of glory, the story of Luxembourg followed the development of the most important European dynasties up until modernity, in which great maybe names known in the mainstream, such as the powerful duchy of Burgundy and the dynasty of the Habsburgs, ended with the last chapters of modern European history and its revolutions.
The walk will take place from place d'Armes and will continue through the medieval part of the upper city center, to then take a beautifu walk with a view on the low town, from which we will be able to see the fortress that has made Luxembourg so famous from the middle ages up to modernity. The ending point will be the Granduchal Palace.
