Tour description

Our journey begins at City Hall Station, where modern Seoul meets its traditions. At exactly 2:00 PM, we’ll witness the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony, a rare event held only once a day that leaves a lasting impression on visitors from around the world.

After the ceremony, we’ll walk to Gwanghwamun Square to see two of Korea’s most celebrated heroes: a legendary war hero Yi Soonshin and King Sejong the Great, the visionary who created Hangul, Korea’s unique writing system. With these iconic statues as a backdrop, you’ll have the chance to take memorable photos.

From there, we’ll pass the historic Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and continue toward Gyeongbokgung Palace, once home to the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. Along the way, we’ll admire the striking contrast of modern outdoor billboards shining brightly around the ancient palace walls—a mix of old and new that makes Seoul so unique.

You’ll also catch views of the mountain behind Gyeongbokgung and even glimpse the President’s Office from a distance.

Our walking tour concludes at the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, a perfect place to deepen your understanding of Korea’s past and present. Entry is free, making it an ideal way to wrap up the experience.

Join me, SEON, for this walk through Seoul’s living history—I hope it inspires you to connect more deeply with Korea’s story.
