Geunjeongjeon is the most important hall in the palace, where kings held major ceremonies and official meetings. Here, I’ll explain how the layout, stone markers, and throne symbolised royal authority, hierarchy, and the political power of the king.

Gyeonghoeru Pavilion
Gyeonghoeru is considered one of the most beautiful spots in Gyeongbokgung. This pavilion was used for royal banquets and important receptions. Surrounded by water, it reflects the Joseon ideal of harmony between nature, architecture, and power.

Sajeongjeon Hall
Sajeongjeon was the king’s working office, where he discussed state affairs with his ministers. This space shows how kings ruled on a daily basis and how practical governance happened behind the formal ceremonies.
