Guided Walking Tour of the San Diego Neighborhood
A 90-minute guided tour of the San Diego neighborhood, once home to artisans and soldiers during the colonial era. This engaging, dynamic, and unique tour showcases the area's history, architecture, culture, and cuisine.
We will visit the Church of Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo, the former home of Gabriel García Márquez, the old Convent of Santa Clara, the Monastery of San Diego, and the Cuartel de las Bóvedas (Bows Barracks). We will also walk along a section of the city walls, sharing stories and legends about the different places, streets, and squares of the neighborhood. We will see the five architectural styles of the city and finish at a shop where we will sample one of Colombia's two emblematic products, in addition to emeralds.
