Hey! I am a certified tour guide and Israeli soldier in Israel. I was born in New York city and grew up in South Africa. I was also a tour guide and security for VIPs visiting Israel in the Israeli army. Mostly politicians and actors, some journalists. I have been a guide for 12 years and I absolutely love it! I would love to show you around my amazing country!

Tour description

Welcome to the greatest city in the world! Join us for a guided experience through New York Harbor aboard the iconic Staten Island Ferry — much more than just a boat ride.

We will begin inside the Staten Island Ferry terminal, where your guide will introduce you to the fascinating history of New York as a gateway for millions of immigrants and one of the world’s most important ports. Before boarding, you’ll learn how this free ferry became one of the city’s most beloved landmarks.

As we sail across the harbor, your guide will bring the skyline to life. You’ll hear the story behind the Statue of Liberty — why France gifted it to the United States, what it symbolized to arriving immigrants, and how it became a global icon of freedom. We’ll also discuss Ellis Island and its role in shaping American identity.

Along the way, we’ll point out and explain:

- The dramatic skyline of Lower Manhattan, including One World Trade Center

- Governors Island and its military significance

- The Brooklyn Bridge and its engineering marvel

- Jersey City and the transformation of the waterfront

Your guide will help you capture the best photo opportunities while sharing little-known facts, historical anecdotes, and modern stories that connect past and present New York.

Upon arrival in Staten Island, we won’t just turn around — you’ll learn about Staten Island’s unique character, its role within New York City, and how it differs culturally and historically from the other boroughs before we board the ferry back to Manhattan.

By the end of this experience, you won’t just have seen the Statue of Liberty — you’ll understand its meaning, its history, and its place in the story of New York."

Your guide is a born and raised New Yorker and has lived in the city for 26 years! He is friendly and extremely knowledgeable and loves to answer any and all questions you may have!

We will then walk to the 9/11 memorial pools and see the World Financial Centers on the way. We will visit the famous St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine. Lastly we will walk to the Winter Garden Brookfield Place and end the tour there.
