Tour description
Discover The Alhambra while exploring its free, accessible spaces full of history. In this tour, I will guide you through some of the most iconic places of the site and its surroundings, combining history, curiosities, and unique corners.
We will start at the imposing Gate of Justice, one of the most symbolic entrances of the Alhambra. From there, we will head to the Plaza de los Aljibes, a magnificent viewpoint to admire the views of the city.
We will continue to the majestic Palace of Charles V, a Renaissance jewel, through the famous Wine Gate and visit the Church of Santa María de la Alhambra, built on the former great mosque.
During the tour, we will visit a traditional Marquetry Craft Workshop, where you will learn about this typical decorative technique from Granada. We will also explore the ancient Bath of the Alhambra Mosque and the archaeological remains of the Palace of the Abencerrajes, linked to one of the most famous legends of the place.
We will continue to the historic Convent of San Francisco, known for being the first burial place of Isabella I of Castile, before her final relocation.
We will finish in the charming Alhambra Forest, a natural environment full of trails and tranquility, and conclude in the romantic Carmen de los Mártires, one of the most beautiful gardens in the city.
