Living museum experience through a historic district - Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon

Yau Ma Tei is part of the Yau Tsim Mong District in Kowloon, Hong Kong.  It is one of Kowloon's oldest areas, it seamlessly blends old-school, working-class Hong Kong with modern city life.  Yau Ma Tei is known for its deep-rooted fishing culture, bustling markets, and traditional architecture.  Also Yau Ma Tei is famous for the Tin Hau Temple, Fruit Market "Gwo Laan", Old Police Station, Jade Market and Jade Street, Cooked Food Hawker Bazaar, Temple Street Night Market.  The name Yau Ma Tei means "place of oil and hemp", referring to its history as an anchorage for Tanka fishermen and sailors who repaired boats and sold oils.  Without a doubt, you'll have your dinner at the last attraction's food street.
