Using traditional tools and natural wood, you'll create your own one-of-a-kind pair of chopsticks with step-by-step guidance. No experience is needed, making this workshop perfect for beginners.

Along the way, you'll also learn about the cultural significance of chopsticks in Japan—how they're used, why different woods and shapes matter, and the traditions behind them.

At the end of the workshop, you'll take your handcrafted chopsticks home the same day, beautifully wrapped and ready to use or keep as a meaningful souvenir from Japan.

Perfect for couples, families, friends, and solo travelers, this experience offers a relaxing break from the energy of Shibuya while connecting you with Japanese craftsmanship and culture.

Important Note:

This experience follows the philosophy of a free tour combined with a traditional workshop.

Participants choose their preferred wood, and a material fee is paid at the end of the workshop based on the selected wood:

Cedar: ¥1,000
European Red Pine: ¥1,000
Hinoki Cypress: ¥2,000

Available wood types may vary depending on stock.

Following the free tour model, you're also welcome to decide how much you'd like to contribute to your guide based on your overall experience. Premium wood upgrades and name engraving are available for an additional charge.

Free tours don't have a fixed price. At the end, each person contributes to the guide the amount they consider fair based on their satisfaction. As a guideline, Guruwalk recommends between €15 and $50 per participant.
