Description
A free walking tour around the Hoe, the Barbican and surrounding areas, a duration of roughly two hours. We will explore the cultural, artistic and architectural significance of historic Plymouth.
We will meet near the Barbican landing stage, and after a relatively brief introduction we will set off on our tour! The walk is not particularly strenuous but you should be used to walking for a couple of hours, with regular stops, it is advisable you wear good shoes, and bring a drink.
We will be discovering the best of this part of Plymouth, it's history, character, culture and much more. Amongst other areas, we will visit the Citadel, the Promenade, various art installations, the Barbican, a 500 year old pub, amongst many other interesting places.
You guide, Ian, has lived in Plymouth all his life and lives with his wife close to the Barbican. He has a wide knowledge of Plymouth history and art.
