Wow, this tour was amazing. You could immediately tell that for our guide, this wasn’t just a weekend job—it’s truly her life’s passion. It was such an honor to hear her family’s story of living and suffering immensely under two different dictatorships, and how, through her telling and her deep understanding of history, she made it clear that history isn’t just behind us—it’s something we’re living right now. This is not a typical tour. People should know that it’s long, and some of the content may be challenging—especially for those willing to reflect on what’s happening in their own countries and governments. But I found our guide to be honest, never judgmental, and I hope others can sit with the information she’s sharing. It’s definitely an experience worth having, though it’s not your average walking tour of 20th-century Berlin. If I had teenage children, I would absolutely make them go on this tour as part of their civic education. But it's really important for everyone of all ages!
