I'm a licensed NYC tour guide with extensive experience leading specialized walking tours. With a background in journalism and communications, I enjoy going beyond the surface, uncovering stories hidden in plain sight, and sharing those experiences with people like you. When I travel, I skip the tourist traps for local gems, and I enjoy sharing that side of my city with visitors. As an immigrant, I feel a deep connection to the borough I now proudly call home, Queens. It's the world's most diverse place, and I love creating that same sense of welcome and connection for my guests. Walk with me, and you'll experience NYC and Queens like a local, make meaningful connections, see a side of NYC you won’t find in guidebooks, and walk away with a deeper appreciation of the world around us (and the best local recommendations!)
Alison was vey knowledgeable and showed us many good maps on her iPad. Lots of good info we had no idea about.
Alison was friendly and fun. She said many historical facts about Astoria and she suggested me the best places to visit in Astoria and other areas too. Totally recommend!
I’ve already done five walking tours in New York City, and this one was by far the best! Alison is incredibly friendly and knows an unbelievable amount of fascinating things about Astoria – it’s truly amazing! I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get an authentic, informative, humorous, and impressively rich impression of this part of New York. Thank you very much!
Really enjoyed learning about Astoria / Queens area from Alison. The little homes and cute yards were so much fun to see, and the people were down to earth. It's great to learn from someone so committed to the area! Alison also had great restaurant recommendations. I ate the greek salad at Tellys Tavern and have to say that it was as good as the best Greek salad I had when in Greece!
