Tour description

Awww I am so happy that you chose to explore Uganda. I'm Jacenta born and raised in Kampala Uganda. Kampala is a very busy, congested, tricky yet very beautiful city. It can be overwhelming to explore it on your own as a foreigner so I would love to be the one to show you around and share with you its history and beauty.

1. We will meet up at the city square (don't worry I will show you how fast and cheaply you will get there) we do an introduction and briefing.
2. We will walk a few minutes to the independence monument where I will share with you about its history and take insta good photos.
3. Cross to the opposite route, walk for a few minutes to Nakasero market where we will taste a variety of fruits and our most famous street snack [keeping it a surprise] don't forget to come with cash for this spot.
4. Next we walk to Owino market which is mostly a clothing market. This is perfect for buying souvenirs like the African fabrics so don't forget to come with cash also for this spot. African fabrics are not expensive or cheap so come with a meaningful amount but not over $20 for this spot.
5. We will walk to the new taxi park where our matatus or taxis park. Here I will share powerful tips on how to use our public transport in the most convenient, safe and cheap way. Game changing for my budget travelers.
6. We will go for a lunch break and bathrooms if you are interested then go to the Gadaffi mosque (National mosque of Uganda)
The last time I went there, locals were paying ugx 10k ($2.83) and foreigners pay ugx 20k ($5.66). This amount comes along with a private guide. This being a free tour, I may or not enter with you but the most interesting part at the mosque is going to the top of the canal and have a clear view of the whole Kampala city. Here you will be able to see all spots we have been to in our tour earlier (I just love it so much) This is where the tour will end from.
Whether I enter the mosque or not, I will give you some guidance on how fast and cheaply you can return to your hotel or to the meeting point.
I honestly can't wait to see you and take photos, make friends with you, and above all give you the best experience in the Pearl of Africa.
