Had the pleasure of having Getachew show me around Addis. Great guide. Tour took 6 hours and we went everywhere. Lots of walking; local bus and taxi. A great overview of life here. I highly recommend Getachew.

Wow, this was hands down the BEST tour I’ve ever done! Getachew is seriously incredible -- he’s not just a guide, he’s a total gem. Super friendly, so welcoming, and you can just tell he genuinely loves what he does. If you’re looking for a chill, personalized experience that’s totally different from the usual crowded, touristy stuff, you’ve got to go with him. He showed us the real Ethiopia -- amazing food, hidden cultural gems, and a glimpse into everyday life that you just won’t get on a big, commercial tour. I booked this tour most of the awesome reviews of this Guru received. Unfortunately, my experience was not even close to other walkers experienced. I booked a tour online on the same day, the guru communicated very well on the website chatting, however, the Guru didn’t show up of the tour, he sent his brother to show me around. I gave his brother a chance, but wow, nothing is close of what I read in other people’s reviews. His brother is very quiet, I had to ask questions to get one sentence answer. Not much information is given. Didn’t follow the itinerary that listed the Guru website. No restaurant or coffee shop showed as other walkers described. That makes me think if those reviews are authentic. Ethiopia is my number 117th countries visited, I have joined many walking tours in different countries. I have to say what I experience with this one is the worst one. I am giving a 3 star review because the guy did show me the market for an hour. (But I had to buy a lunch at a restaurant to access the rooftop for the market view.) For future walkers, I would suggest to contact the Guru before the tour starts, and ask who is the actual guide.
