The Troglodyte Quarter of Guadix Free Tour
Hello, my name is Jose Antonio, I am from Guadix and I would like to show my town to the whole world!!! I am passionate about teaching my city and telling its controversial and interesting history through its monuments. I have experience in the sector as a guide, and at the same time I have a Degree in History, a Master's Degree in Ibero-American Studies and a B2 level of English.
Tour description
Attached to the southern flank of the city , an extensive range of conical hills encircles , crowded anarchically, with no other organization than the dividing line drawn by the deep furrows of the ravines. A geological work of torrential rains has been configuring the clay to trace a lunar-like landscape. There nest the caves.
The desolate geography of the Bad-lands to the south and east of Guadix has given rise to the troglodyte habitat , an interesting popular architecture, and this type of subterranean dwelling (more than 2,500) has shaped a very peculiar landscape, of innumerable brown mounds. and reddish, cut like cheese by white planes and dotted by conical chimneys, also white.
This FreeTour will show you the Cuevas de Guadix neighborhoods in different ways and perspectives. Well , apart from touring the neighborhoods on foot, we will be located in three of the very famous viewpoints in the city, where you will be stunned by the landscape that is reflected before your eyes.
Without a doubt, do not miss this wonderful Tour, in which you will learn about the history and formation of the cave neighborhood, its traditions and the habitat so characteristic of the place and if you are a lover of landscapes and photography, this is without a doubt your Freetour.
