Mehmet Said is a well-informed, talented, and enthusiastic young guru. He is well-versed in all aspects of the Zeugma mosaics, having remarked on them both historically and mythologically. More people joined us in the museum to hear him speak. A man once provoked him by asking a short statement in ancient Greek (nearly unnoticed) on an artwork. I predicted that he would fail in the end. But he knelt, deciphered the text, explained the meaning, and added a comment. I inquired as to whether he was conversant in Greek. "No, but I dechipered the characters using the Kiril alphabet and the meaning using spanish and english, they resemble.” He replied. Actually Nothing was resembling nothing for me. :) He also led me to a little, inexpensive restaurant in the area. I'd never had such a flavor before. I'd say it was superior to my mother's cooking. He took me to a baklava shop before departing, the seller offered us a piece of baklava to try. I passed out as it melted in my mouth. I've never tasted such a delicious dessert before. Incredible. I can't put into words what I'm feeling. We agreed to meet up again to view some other landmarks. I strictly recommend that you go to Gaziantep and to meet this guide.
