Hi! I'm Gabriel. I'm 25 years old and have lived in Aveiro my whole life, born and raised, as has my family, so I consider myself pretty well versed not only in the culture, but the ins and outs of this city. I'm pretty outgoing, so come along and let me show you the city that raised me.
This will not be your normal tour, that I can guarantee!
I will not only show you the main highlights of our beautiful city, but also its soft underbelly, and I will tell you all there is to know about our most famous legends, and something that few know of that runs deep beneath our city.
We will start at the train station, go down to the factory where the tiles that adorned its facade were first made, follow through to an iconic staircase, from where we will go to a place where the old convents used to sit, now replaced by simple churches and one of the most intriguing and intricate stone floors in our country. From there, we will visit our fish market, and end our tour near one of our most iconic bridges.
I will be on one of the benches in front of the old station, in Jeans and cowboy boots. You can't miss me!
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
