Rome is made of secrets , symbols, illusions and hidden corners.
On this tour we will delve into one of the most elegant and mysterious hills in the city: the Aventine, one of the seven original hills of Rome and key to the birth of the ancient city.
Walking along the Aventine Hill, you'll enjoy breathtaking views and plays of perspective that deceive the eye. Don't worry: I'm here to explain why Rome is so adept at tricking its observers.
From here we will descend towards the Rome of legends and ancient gods, visiting the famous Mouth of Truth and the pagan temples that time has left almost intact.
We'll continue past the imposing Theatre of Marcellus to reach the Portico of Octavia, the gateway to the Jewish Ghetto, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Europe. We'll stroll through its history, traditions, and historic shops, with excellent lunch recommendations.
We will end the tour in a hidden and charming corner: the Fontana delle Tartarughe.
A tour designed for curious travelers, for those who want to understand Rome in depth, beyond the obvious.
A city that, even when you think you know it, surprises you again 🥰
