Hello Everyone. I am Yuki from Japan. I have been an official local guide of Ljubljana and an official tour manager fully licensed since 2018 for English and Japanese speakers. Probably you are curious why I am here. I came to Ljubljana to study former Yugoslavian history 11 years ago. During the study I travelled and did fieldworks in former Yugoslavian countries. It was a very precious time in my life. Then I deleted the option to return to Japan, but made the decision to stay here as a tour guide, which I could combine what I put into my huge energy and experiences in Ljubljana. Besides history, I love to eat;) so I am very happy to share profound history and the food scene in Ljubljana with you. I hope we can see you soon on my tour!
Walk with me in the lively Ljubljana city center and learn about the socialism and communism times in Ljubljana.
The tour is conducted always in small group because it will be better for my guests, the city, local people and keeping the tour's quality. I set maximum number as 12 people!
You will know in the tour how Socialist Republics of Yugoslavia was formed, when and how socialism started and ended in Slovenia, unique or special policies here compared to other socialist countries, and bit dark part of socialist time.
You can meet important figures in socialism time and see powerful architectures, which are very different from other parts of Ljubljana.
If you are interested in Yugoslavia, Socialism, and modern history, the tour will be perfect ;)
Highlights of the tour:
the end of the tour you will receive my recommendations including restaurants, other Ljubljana's attractions, so you can still enjoy Ljubljana after the tour!
Come on and enjoy with me this special tour!
I will be in front of University of Ljubljana's building (Kongresni trg 12) with a green Ljubljana local guide license
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
