Excellent tour

Primoz was an excellent tour guide! My husband, 21-year-old son, and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and we learned so much! My son said (and I agree) that he thought this was one of the best tours he’d been on and we’ve been on many when traveling. The range of material that Primoz covered was impressive from the history to the architecture to poets to current politics to how to pronounce basic words and greetings in Slovene. It was all fascinating! My son also commented that Primoz had the most props of any tour we’ve been on. He had postcards, photos in little frames, his passport from when he was a teenager (this was the former Yugoslavia and apparently such passports are worth a considerable amount of money now for historical reasons), and even a street sign—with all props coming out of his “magic backpack”. We also really liked the range of sites a c street objects he showed us: Street signs and building signs that helped us learn pronunciation; the pattern of streets, and why they were laid out as they were; the history of street names, including one that was named Flower Street when in fact, the real history was that people were executed there in past centuries; and the list goes on! One of the most interesting facts mentioned that encapsulated a lot of the current countries complex history was that his grandmother had lived in six different countries while at the same address. He chose different sites to see and stories to tell that made the country’s very complex history more understandable for newcomers, even if you had a little to no background. This is a great tour for people who know a lot and who know very little about Slovenia. Highly recommend! Primoz was very informative and knowledgeable. He showed us real old Slovenian currencies and other historical things that made the experience special.

I have the habit of doing walking tour in different cities I visit. I have been to good and bad ones. And left wanting to make a positive review for Primoz. One could see he really is dedicated to his work, and prepare his routes and work. Bringing physical totems of Slovenia and the city history, or photos when necessary to illustrate his point. I really appreciate my tour and his tour. I recommend it :)
