ESSENTIAL TOLEDO WITH COURTYARD-PALACE HOUSE
Tour description
History, legends, curiosities, gossip, and a Toledo Patio with an Architecture Award... This is the perfect tour to discover the essentials of Toledo. Our guides will be waiting for you at the meeting point, and from there, we will embark on a fascinating journey through the most illustrious spots of our Toledo. Are you ready to start the tour?
We will begin at Plaza Zocodover, where you will discover why Toledo is also known as the city of the Three Cultures. Then, we will pass by one of the highest points in the city, the Alcázar of Toledo, and from there, we will head to Plaza la Magdalena, where we will tell you the story of one of the city's typical dishes. Do you know which one it is? Well, we will tell you there. And in case you didn't know, there is also another mosque, the Mosque of Tornerías, built on earlier Roman foundations, and from here, we will continue to Plaza Mayor, where the Rojas Theater is located.
Don't worry, this is not all! We still have more places to discover... we continue passing by the Posada de la Hermandad until we reach the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, to find ourselves in an incomparable setting surrounded by the Toledo City Hall building, the Archbishop's Palace, and the best... the Toledo Cathedral, which is our most precious jewel. From there, we will make our way to the Jewish Quarter of Toledo. You might wonder what the Hebrew letters on the tiles you will see on the streets of this area mean; we will talk about that, and at this point, we will begin our return journey, passing by the Church of San Ildefonso, also known as the Church of the Jesuits. We will pass by the Convent of the Gaytanas and also discover the history and the underground of Casa Rodrigo de la Fuente, a 15th-century palace house that belonged to a family of converted Jews from the city and one of the most important silk merchants. Finally, we will arrive at one of the most famous streets in Toledo, Calle Silleria, which has a very hidden legend.
