A half-day experience, approximately 4 hours, designed to discover the living culture, art, and landscapes of Lake Atitlan. This experience begins in San Juan La Laguna.
Reception at the dock of San Juan La Laguna by our Tz'utujil Maya girls.
Walk along the Street of Umbrellas and Art Walk, discovering the colorful murals that represent the Tz'utujil identity.
Visit to a textile and natural dye workshop, where local artisans explain the traditional weaving process.
Artisanal cacao and chocolate experience, with explanation and tasting.
Visit to the Catholic Church of San Juan La Laguna and a brief interpretation of the community's history.
Ascent to the Kaqasiiwaan Viewpoint. The walk takes approximately 25 minutes and offers impressive panoramic views of Lake Atitlán, San Juan, and the volcanoes surrounding the lake. Entrance not included.
Time for photographs, landscape interpretation, and explanation of the relationship between territory, nature, and Tz'utujil Maya worldview.
Descent to the town and free time for crafts or coffee.
