I would highly recommend to book a tour with Alejandro! His expertise coupled with his knowledge about Nicaragua and its history offer you a detailed understanding of its background. Moreover, he tells you a lot about the people, culture and food. He even took me to the local food market and gave me some snacks to try. Overall a highly recommended must do!

I had a wonderful tour with Alejandro around Leon. He explained the history of the city, Nicaragua, and the culture, in a fun and easily understandable way. The tour was well organised but still flexible and spontaneous. The trip to the market was a highlight! He provided helpful tips about the city e.g. food recommendations, market food, ATMs. We passed many wonderful buildings and Alejandro seamlessly incorporated teaching about the history with visual aids, relevant to the sites visited. Highly recommend - thank you Alejandro!

Leo is an incredible guide who is deeply passionate about León and Nicaragua. He gave us a really unfiltered view and provided a fantastic narrative of Nicaragua’s past, present, and future. Loved trying some delicious local snacks that I would’ve never discovered if I was just by myself. Highly recommend this tour.

We loved this tour! We weren’t expecting too much of León as a city, but were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful architecture and street art. We absolutely loved hearing about the political history of the country, particularly the more recent conflicts in our lifetime. Going to the markets with our guide, Leo, a León local, was a huge highlight. We all gave him less than $2AUD and he went around buying all different kinds of Nicaraguan food for us to try. This also had the added bonus of directing tourism money straight into the local community, which we always want to support. Leo was great, happily answering any and all questions, both the textbook answer and also the answer as someone who has always lived here. Would definitely recommend!!
