Flavours of Hungary: Budapest Food Tasting Tour
Discover the flavours of Hungary on this small-group food tour of Budapest. Perfect for foodies who want to taste authentic Hungarian dishes while learning about local cuisine and traditions.
Please read the description and disclaimer before booking!
Our tour begins at the famous Great Market Hall, the city’s most iconic food market. Here we explore the stalls, learn about Hungarian ingredients, and discover the stories behind the country’s most beloved dishes.
We start our tastings with the traditional Hungarian pastry, pogácsa, together with different types of Hungarian salami. You will also try fried goose cracklings, a local delicacy.
Next, we continue with our most famous street food: lángos.
Then we will take a short walk through charming streets and hidden corners of Budapest before finishing with the iconic chimney cake.
I will also share local restaurant recommendations and traditional Hungarian recipes so you can recreate some dishes at home.
Tastings included:
• Pogácsa
• Hungarian salamis

Hi, my name is István! I was born and raised in Hungary and I am happy to call Budapest my home for over 10 years now.
I have a huge love for this city and I would like to show you why!
In Budapest everything tells a story.
Being a professional musician and a licensed tour guide combined with a great love for history, I will tell you this story from a totally unique perspective.
I have been to over 40 countries so far myself, I love learning about and experiencing new cultures because I think that’s the best way to broaden our horizon.
That’s why my tours are quite interactive and I highly encourage everyone to participate and ask as many questions as you have. (I might even reward some people from the group! 😉 ) Remember there is no such thing as a dumb question!
So if you’re ready to go on a walk, meet fellow travellers, try some local snacks, take amazing pictures and experience the Pearl of the Danube with a true local, I will be happy to see you on my tours!
