Historic Old Town Freetour: From the Suburb to the Promenade.
Tour description
Join me on a journey through time in the heart of Panama. In this tour, we will not only see monuments; we will understand how society, piracy, and engineering shaped this World Heritage gem.
Our Itinerary:
Santa Ana Plaza: We begin in the old "arrabal," the artisans' neighborhood outside the walls, to understand true colonial life.
La Merced Church: We will learn about its baroque facade, rescued stone by stone from the ruins of Old Panama after the attack by pirate Henry Morgan.
The Golden Altar (San José): I will tell you the clever legend of the priest who tricked the pirates to save this treasure.
Main Plaza (Independence): The center of political and religious power. We will see the Cathedral Basilica and talk about Panama's independence.
Flat Arch: You will discover why these ruins were decisive for the Panama Canal to be built here and not in another country.
Vaults Walk and France Plaza: We will end with the best panoramic views, walking along the old wall and remembering the French legacy.
We will finish by the sea, the perfect place to continue enjoying local gastronomy and crafts.
