Hi! I'm Enma, a Classical Studies graduate with a passion for history and culture. I love to travel, and through my travels, I've learned what visitors to a city truly seek: to get to know it authentically and have a genuine experience. My professional and personal journey has brought me to Galicia, and although I'm not from Vigo, I've gradually discovered its culture and hidden gems, allowing me to offer a unique perspective: a blend of the curiosity of an outsider and the affection of someone who already feels this place is their own. If you give me the chance, I'd love to show you the city from this angle.

Tour description
In this free tour: Exploring the Medieval Historic Center of Pontevedra, I propose a walk through the streets and squares where you can best understand how the city has evolved over time. Although the tour focuses on medieval Pontevedra, we will also travel to its possible Roman origins, its foundational legends, and the historical moments that have left a mark on its identity.
We will start at the Alameda, a perfect place to situate ourselves and understand how the town grew from its first settlements linked to the ancient bridge over the Lérez. From there, we will walk to the Ruins of Santo Domingo, where we will discuss the role of religious orders in the Middle Ages. We will continue to the Main Theater and Praza do Teucro, one of the oldest squares, surrounded by history and tradition.
We will advance through the arcades to the Praza da Ferrería and the Peregrina, a key point on the Portuguese Way to Santiago, to discover how pilgrims, merchants, and artisans brought life to the historic center. The tour will continue to the Convent of San Francisco and the Church of San Bartolomé.
We will then delve into squares with names that still recall ancient trades; Praza da Leña and Praza da Verdura. We will pass through the Praza das Cinco Rúas before reaching the Basilica of Santa María a Maior, one of the great historical symbols of Pontevedra and a reflection of its maritime past.
We will finish by returning to the Alameda after a peaceful, close circular walk full of small stories that reveal how, between stone and memory, Pontevedra has built its identity over the centuries.
