There are 3 of us in Free Tours Riga by locals, all born in Riga when our country was still part of the Soviet Union.
We really love our city:) and are passionate about our job
being tour guides. We feel really privileged for given opportunity to meet
so many people from all around the world and pass over our knowledge, feelings, love and
passion.
We have guided tours in Riga and Latvia now for 8 years.

Tour description
This is the first walking tour in Riga to focus primarily on the city’s history from the perspective of Latvians themselves. Instead of emphasizing foreign rulers and medieval trade, it highlights Latvian culture, identity, and the road to independence. The route goes beyond, but close to, the Old Town and reveals landmarks connected to Latvian intellectual life, art, and social movements. Stories are tied to real people, writers, and cultural leaders who shaped modern Latvia. Ideal for travelers who want meaningful context rather than surface-level sightseeing. Expect to have an interesting and fun tour!

The meeting place is next to the entrance of the Latvian Puppet theatre. The tour guide with a blue alarm clock logo will be there 10 min before the start of the tour.
