Kuanzhai Alley, a signature area in downtown Chengdu, a beautiful blend of traditional and contemporary architecture, the introduction of northern architecture style to Southern city is a must visit place in Chengdu.
In the heart of Chengdu's Qingyang District, a winding network of ancient lanes offers a portal into the city's soul. This is Kuanzhai Alley (宽窄巷子), a meticulously preserved historic district whose name literally translates to "Wide and Narrow Alleys." More than just a tourist destination, it is a living museum, a vibrant cultural bazaar, and the last surviving example of Chengdu's Qing Dynasty-era cityscape, where the leisurely pace of old Sichuan converges with the dynamic energy of a modern metropolis .
