Budapest secret mini statues walk: a glance into history, culture and art of Hungary

The tour was excellent! It was so wonderful to explore and learn about some charming 'secret' artwork around Budapest, and see the city in new ways. Dominik was a wonderful and engaging guide, and he thoughtfully and passionately shared his love and knowledge of this beautiful and historic city. Highly recommend!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience on this walking tour in Budapest. This tour took us through some of the city’s most breathtaking sights, from the Parliament to amazing views along the Danube and hidden spots in Buda! What truly made it special, though, was our guru, Dominik, who struck the perfect balance between being incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely engaging, sharing not just historical facts but also really interesting insights and little stories that brought the city to life, combining those charming little statues scattered around the city that you might otherwise walk right past…. all while keeping the atmosphere light; he was also very thoughtful and attentive, making sure everyone felt comfortable and included, always happy to answer questions and dive deeper when something sparked our curiosity. I couldn’t recommend this experience more :)

If you love looking for the mini statues by Kolodko, Dominick will take you to some these mini statues and give you information how these statues were inspired and placed in their location, along with seeing historical sites on the way to these mini statues. We really enjoyed our tour either Dominick and we highly recommend taking this! If you want the best of seeing mini statues and top sites, Dominick is the person you want to show you! I’ve been in Budapest for quite a while now, long enough to think I’d already noticed most of what the city quietly hides. I’d spotted a few of those tiny bronze statues here and there before, almost by accident, but never had the chance to really sink into them, to follow their trail, to understand what they’re doing there and why they matter. This walk felt like slipping into a different layer of the city. Suddenly those small figures weren’t just curiosities… you start to see them as little anchors of memory, humour and history, each one tied to a story or a moment, often playful, sometimes surprisingly deep. It changes the way you walk through Budapest afterwards... You look closer. Dominik guides the whole thing with a kind of calm intensity - you can tell he genuinely loves the city and, more importantly, wants you to love it too. He’s incredibly knowledgeable but never heavy with it, super intelligent yet easy to follow, and very open to questions and conversation. It feels less like a tour and more like a shared exploration. We even brought along a small dog, who happily trotted the whole 6 km like it was his own personal adventure :) so yes, a very dog-friendly tour in spirit too :) By the end, you’re not just ticking off sights - you’re carrying a slightly different Budapest in your head. Quieter, more detailed, more alive in the margins. I honestly hope Dominik does more of these walks. There’s something special in the way he tells this city.
