Hi Lisbon Walking Tours is a local company founded to provide tours with small groups for a better experience of the city and take you out of the beaten track to show the authentic Lisbon. Our team of local guides, are very knowledgeable, well informed, entertaining and free to give their touch according to the expectation of each group. We are passionate about Lisbon and would like to share this love with you providing the best walking tours around the city and showing why Lisbon has become such a popular destination recently, with its charming streets, lovely architecture, colorful houses and fantastic weather.

About the tour

A journey around Alfama and Mouraria will make you feel like going back in time. From the Phoenicians to the Romans, from the Visigoths

to the Moors and the conquest of Lisbon by Afonso Henriques, all these civilizations left their influence around here.

These are the areas better preserved after the great earthquake in 1755 and they haven’t changed much throughtout time.

From the shores of the Tagus river up to Graça viewpoint, you will be able to feel the mix of cultures so unique to Lisbon.

The charming narrow streets, the famous “azulejos” on the walls, the clothes on the balconies, the iconic trams, the many steps up and down, the delicious local food, the friendly locals and the soul of the

portuguese culture, Fado.

From Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square), we’ll visit places like Sé Cathedral, the streets of Alfama, Portas do Sol viewpoint, São Jorge Castle, São Domingos Church, Graça district and viewpoint, Beco do Fado and many more.

What's the price?

A guruwalk is a pay-what-you want walking tour, which means, it's completely free to book and join the group, but the 'guru' expects to be rewarded once the tour ends. Some people give 5, some people give 50, you choose the price.

Reservations in advance are mandatory because if the 'guru' doesn't see any bookings one day, she will not show up at the meeting point. Or if she has too many 'walkers' that day, won't allow you to join without the reservation. Booking is completely free, fast and easy. Book your guruwalk now!

Wonderful tour. Great way to learn something about this beautiful city and not having to stress about getting lost. This city is very hilly so be prepared. We visited in early April and it rains often so bring rain gear or umbrella. I highly recommend this walking tour!
