I am Edinburgh born and bred with a strong interest in local history and the political and societal structures which shaped Edinburgh and Scotland.
I studied history and politics at the University of Aberdeen and have also completed a further qualification in tour guiding from Edinburgh College. My passion for the city goes beyond the academic though; I love to tell the story of the people of the city and how the city itself shaped their behaviours and lives.
I currently live in Edinburgh with my wife and 2 children. I enjoy exploring the city, supporting one of the local football teams and exploring the many wonderful pubs in the city.
Very informative and well-presented tour; knowledgeable, friendly and professional guide. His storytelling left me feeling transported back in time, it was inspiring. I definitely recommend the tour and would be interested in longer tours by Stuart if I was in the area! I visited the Surgeon's Hall Museum after which certainly fit the theme and I would also recommend.
This tour was great: informative and entertaining. Thank you, Stuart.
Interesting walk with a very informative and friendly guide
Stuart was fantastic! The tour was informative and very different from the ones I have done in past. Definitely recommend!
We learned some of the darker history of Edinburgh. Very interesting. Stuart was very knowledgeable.
