Sheva Walking Tours Team

I was born and raised in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Over the course of over 40 years, I have experienced the many changes which have occurred in my country. I grew up in Yugoslavia. I came of age during its violent dissolution during the wars of the 1990s and fought for my country. I have witnessed and felt the changes that followed the country's early years of independence. One thing that has not changed is my love for Mostar - the people, place, and culture.

I channeled this love, knowledge, and experience into the development of Sheva Walking Tours. Our tours are immersive and engaging, with the goal of not just presenting our past, but explaining the present from a local perspective and with the hope of dispelling the misconceptions associated with Mostar and the greater Balkan region.

Sheva Walking Tours is a small but growing team of passionate guides who are looking forward to sharing our hometown - past and present - with you. While we offer a range of private tours, our Free Walking Tour of Mostar is our most popular walking tour of Mostar. Currently, four local guides - Sevko, Haris, Mirjana, and Arnela - are leading Sheva's Free Walking Tours of Mostar with another team member working behind the scenes! We are dedicated to providing memorable and meaningful experiences that are accessible and welcome to all visitors, regardless of budget or background. Walk with us for an insiders perspective of Mostar!

A Tale of Two Continents of Istanbul; Free tour from Europe to Asia
12/20/2022

This tour was a great opportunity to expand our experience of Istanbul! We took the tour of the historic center our first day in town and decided to try this one on the second day. Most visitors and tours do not necessarily make it to the asian side of town, but it is well worth your time. The ferry ride was a fun component. The feel and energy of the neighborhoods is much different than that of the historic center, incredible selection of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops. The guide provided great background and advice for enjoying the local scene. Take the tour and then stay to enjoy dinner and drinks. As a bonus, the small group of guests that we walked with were awesome, and we extended our tour at a stop at a meyhane after the tour.
