Our guide was lovely, very good on explaining and keep attention of people. Honestly I would have appreciated more history about the city, she concentrated all her talk about urbanization for 2 hours, nothing about importance of Venice some political history or commercial or people who made a crucial life here and nothing about the most important places to see (S marcus Rialto). We visit I believe the worst part of Venice. I`m from Venice but leaving abroad from over ten years. I brought some British friends with me so they could have learn history of things I don`t know and a refresh for me. I felt they saw the most dilapidated part of the city and I was a bit embarrassed for this . I have done millions of free guide tour in all most important European cities and in one-two hours they gave you an overlook of the history of city plus some funny or interesting legends about people living there so that at the end of the tour you got an idea of the city and especially the sense of the city lifestyle in the ancient days. She got 2 hours. I don`t want to put everything off, I like when she explained Venice`s foundation (wood platform) and how she was explaining was good and a very lovely girl but then the talk was all about the streets, paving. So good tour but you need to integrate this one with others to have a better understanding of Venice`s history and I hope also some with famous people history.
