My husband and I really enjoyed learning about the Muslim faith with Fathi. He is a kind and generous man, who was happy to answer every question we put to him. I would highly recommend the tour.
Our walking tour of Istanbul with Faith was an unforgettable experience that opened our eyes and hearts to the spiritual richness of the city. Over the course of the day, we visited a variety of sacred sites—from grand mosques to serene hidden corners—each filled with history, beauty, and meaning. Faith was an incredible guide: knowledgeable, respectful, and deeply passionate about sharing the heart of Muslim culture. He didn’t just show us the architecture or explain the dates—he invited us into the stories, the traditions, and the living practices of Islam. We learned about the importance of daily prayer, the significance of Ramadan, and the values that guide everyday life for many Muslims in Istanbul. What made the tour truly special was how personal it felt. Faith created a safe space for dialogue and curiosity. We could ask anything, and he answered with warmth and depth, always encouraging understanding rather than judgment. Whether you’re religious, spiritual, or just curious, this tour offers a meaningful way to connect with the soul of Istanbul. Highly recommended for anyone who wants more than just sightseeing—this is about insight, respect, and connection.
The tour with Fathi Hilmi was dreamlike, marked by hospitality and a vast knowledge that he shared with us. This tour and Fathi Hilmi in particular are highly recommended.
More than a week later and my husband and I still talk about how great our tour with Fatih was. For my first time visiting Istanbul I found the religious context to be incredibly helpful in better understanding the culture of the city and daily lives of many practicing Muslims living there. The tour had a really good balance of walking and stopping at cultural sites to sit and hear more about each place. Even with cooler weather there were indoor stops which was nice, and many of them (while open to the public) I would never have known to walk into or know there were volunteers to speak with. Overall time incredibly well spent.
One of the best tours I've ever taken! I wish I had had it at the beginning of my stay in Turkey.
