Mary is a friendly and professional walking guide. She clearly knows NY well as she grows up in NJ. Her pace is good and she looks out for the group to keep going and takes group photos, which is lovely idea. We learned a lot of the hidden gems of the city with Mary’s great story telling and insights. I am surprised that JP Morgan house has the remains of the bomb in 1920s. And the Fraucern Tarvern has a story behind it with great historical significance. Overall the walk is interesting for us, as we journey through the growth of NYC from early immigrants of thr 1880s to the touching moments at the 9/11 Memorial Park; and finally with wondrous whims of miracles at the St Paul’s Church. Highly recommend!!

Jon went above and beyond to make the walk memorable and I am convinced he is the best guide. We saw amazing highlights that we never would have found on our own, and we love his recommendations. I highly recommend taking his tour!

Amazing route around the waterfront with a really good blend of standard and more niche points of interest. Guide is local and has lived in NYC for a long time so had a lot of interesting anecdotes on locations which would otherwise be skipped.

I had timed my American holiday to coincide with the fall colours, but only after I landed here did I realize that I was in for a bonus, halloween was close at hand, and the humble kaddu (pumpkin) was everywhere, adding a bright orange hue to the vibrant hues of the leaves. And it's a big deal too, quite like Diwali that almost coincides with it. Over the past week I have noticed, houses, yards and trees being decorated with all manner of elaborate decorations, from skeletons, ghosts, spiders, witches and webs, not to mention the jack of lanterns, carved out of the hollow shells of pumpkins. Then there's the tradition of trick or treating where bands of children go from door to door dressed up in fancy costume, collecting candy that's quite liberally dispensed during the occasion. In fact the news, and even some series like South Park, bemoaned the shortage of candy on shelves this year. And studieds hsve shown that it's the biggest day for takeout, especially pizza sales that go through the roof. It's not just kids that dress up, but also adults that go over the top, and even their pets, sometimes attending block parties and parades. The festival is on the eve of All saints day, that commemorates the dead, and is prevalent in different forms in other cultures as well, especially Mexico where it goes by the name "Dia de muertos" , or day of the dead.

Jon was an amazing and very enthusiastic tour guide. He made every moment memorable and interesting, also sharing knowledge about how to tour the city including his favorite places to visit. When covering topics as delicate as 9/11, Jon handles it perfectly, going well into character and emphasizing the impacts it has had on American society and the story of those who have perished. Jon is also very knowledgeable about the architecture that makes up New York City, giving us even more background information on the city's upbringing. If you're looking for a friendl, enthusiastic, and dynamic tour guide, Jon is definitely the best option for helping you get out of your comfort zone.

Scott was passionate about NYC. The tour gave something more than a normal tour, it gave the history but with an entertaining twist. He seemed to effortlessly tailor the tour to our interests. We saw places you wouldn't get to see and do unless with Scott. He opened up places not experienced to others.
