This tour was great, Dave is very passionate about Toronto and about teaching visitors (or locals!) new stuff about this city. I learnt a lot and enjoyed Dave as a tour guide. Would highly recommend. Thanks so much!
Dave is a font of knowledge and no question from the group floored him. For history and insight into Toronto and the wider area, Dave is definitely the person to lead your tour.
This tour was absolutely amazing and the best one we have been on for a while. Dave is extremely knowledgeable and delivers the tour in an excellent fashion. If you are considering taking a tour in Toronto and can only take one, this is the one you should take. At the end, we finished in Saint Lawrence Market and he suggested the best places to eat there.
Really good! Dave was so friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommended!
Dave's knowledge is impeccable and we had a fantastic time.
Interesting tour - but it's more about Canada in general than Toronto. The stops are quiet long (especially the first stop was about 45min), after nearly 1,5hr we've just walked 50 meters.. so you do not really get to see a lot of Toronto.
Dave was a fabulous guide. Being local and an ex teacher made him bring the tour to life. His knowledge of the area and history was exceptional.
Wanted to tour Old Toronto knowing some of the history of the city already. Dave was excellent and knew the history with great detail. We exchanged information I knew about other buildings in the area occupied after The Rebellion. Was a great free tour and the ins and outs of St Lawrence Market was a bonus!!!!
Excellent tour, full of fascinating stories and details about the history of Canada and the founding of Toronto. Far more information than you might expect. Dan is a very personal guide, happy to answer all questions. Take this tour if you are curious why its called The lost rebellion.
¡Excelente experiencia! Dave es un gran storyteller. Sus anécdotas y recomendaciones permiten conocer Toronto desde otra perspectiva.
A very nice morning with Dave our guide. He was very pleasant, knowledgeable and passionate about his city. Very in depth look at the history of the formation of the country and outlined many facets of how the city grew to be where it is today.
Dave is a great and passionate Storyteller. I really much enjoyed the tour and learned a lot!
Dave's tour of Toronto's Old Town was excellent, and the time just flew by. We were thrilled by the amount of information we learned and by Dave's talent for making the tour entertaining and lively. You could tell how much Toronto means to him. We had a great time and were able to learn a lot about the city’s early history right at the start of our stay here in Toronto. Dave was always more than happy to answer any questions we had along the way and was also able to share many stories about his city off the cuff. We also found him to be a very open and friendly person in every other way. At the end, he even took extra time to give us lots of tips about St. Lawrence Market and the dining options there. We can wholeheartedly recommend the tour and highly encourage you to join Dave's tour.
Dave managed to keep our attention for three hours, taking us on a fascinating journey through Toronto’s history and introducing us to the key figures who helped shape the city and, more broadly, Canada as we know it today. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to delve deeper into Canada’s origins and gain a better understanding of its present-day identity. Although Dave has only recently started working as a Guru Guide, his background as a professor more than makes up for his relative lack of experience as a guide. He has a real talent for making history engaging and accessible to everyone, regardless of their background. His English is also clear, articulate and very easy to follow, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. All in all, a truly enjoyable and insightful experience. Highly recommended!
Informative, personalized & interactive. Great tour.
The tour was great! Very insightful and did cover a great range of historical facts as well as recommendations for food and activities.
I have been on GuruWalk tours on four continents, and this was definitely a standout. Dave is knowledgeable, entertaining, and kind; crucially, you can tell that this is a tour personally designed by him out of love for his city and sharing knowledge, not a cookie-cutter tourist experience. Not only was the tour rich in history, but Dave welcomed any questions with curiosity and sensitive personal insight.
Dave is really enthusiastic about Canadian history and he shared this passion with us, even when answering our questions concerning any topic. We really enjoyed this tour and we highly recommend it!
Dave was an amazing guide and I’m glad we caught his tour! The information was well researched and interesting. I enjoyed how he told many diverse stories of Toronto’s history.
Dave war pünktlich und hat die Tour sehr professionell durchgeführt. Man merkt, dass er Spaß daran hat, die Geschichte von Toronto näher zu bringen. Would recommend!
We have visited Toronto many times and did not know the history of this wonderful city. Our Guide, Dave was the answer. We had a great walk with lots of great historical info. Much of it could relate to other cities we visited in Canada and Europe. Amazing time.
Dave was great and had a lot of information. Even though I grew up in Toronto, I learned a lot that I didn't know!!!! Highly recommend!!!
Professional, informative, friendly and well paced
It was really a great tour. In case you visit Toronto you don’t want to miss this guru walk. We were a family from Germany and we had really great fun and learned a whole lot about history of Toronto and Canada … and who really built the Yonge street … at least 97% :-)
