Praça Dom Pedro IVMeeting point and introduction to the tour's route. This square was a hippodrome during the Roman period. During the Inquisition period both an Hospital and the Palace of the Inquisition operated on this square till both were destroyed by the big Earthquake in 1755.

Igreja de São DomingosMajor church edified in the 13th century. Place of the Jewish massacre that occurred in 1506 and nearby there are several memorials regarding this sad episode. The church suffered damage during major earthquakes and a fire and still bears the marks which makes this visit a very unique event.
