Walking through Padua - Free Walking Tour
Tour description
Padua, known for being the city of San Antonio de Padua, besides its churches and cathedrals, also houses other charming places. Did you know that it is an university city, and that it was here that the first woman in the world was titled as a graduate? For these curious facts, and many other things, I invite you to join me on this tour, and let me show you what to see in Padua.
Our tour will begin in front of the Basilica of San Antonio de Padua, built between 1238 and 1310. We will also pass through the Scrovegni Chapel, there I will tell you the story of Giotto's frescoes !. We will continue through the square Pratto della Valle, known for being one of the largest in Europe with more than 90,000 square meters! We will visit the University of Padua, you will be surprised to learn that Galileo Galilei and Nicolaus Copernicus studied here. We will go to the Café Pedrocchi, the oldest coffee in the city, and where you can take, if you wish, an authentic Italian coffee. Finally, I will leave you at the Botanical Garden of Padua, which has been declared a World Heritage Site! I will be happy to be your guru in this city, and to enjoy those things to see in Padua ... come with me!
