About the tour

The rise to power and the decline of the most important family in Tuscany. Join us to learn how one of the richest and most powerful families in Europe lived. They were merchants, bankers, patrons, scholars who forever changed the look of the city and Tuscany. This tour full of history, love, passion and mystery will take you to the heart of Florentine neighborhoods, to discover majestic palaces, hidden corners, while learning about artists, conspiracies and relationships with other powerful families in Florence and Italy. We will follow in the footsteps of the most important members of the family: Giovanni di Bicci, Cosimo the Elder, Lorenzo the Magnificent; These are just some of the names we will talk about during the tour.

There is a Medici for all tastes! We will start in the Plaza de Santa Maria Novella and from there we will continue our tour during which we will admire the palaces where the Medici resided; We will cross the old town where artistic and architectural wonders are found, to reach Ponte Vecchio, a place with a special charm, unique in the world. We will cross the bridge and get lost in the “Oltrarno”, the neighborhood on the other side of the river, with its medieval towers and Renaissance palaces, antique dealers, artisans and cafés and restaurants in the latest fashion; through its alleys you can breathe the atmosphere of the most genuine city. And finally we will end up in the majestic Pitti Palace, another center of culture, art and beauty worldwide.

If you decide to visit it on your own, inside you will find several museums where you can admire magnificent works of Rafael, Caravaggio, Titian, Rubens, etc., and the splendid Boboli garden, a green lung in the historic center of Florence, and from which you can contemplate a different perspective of the dome of Brunelleschi. Do not miss it!
