I started working the routes in 2019, when Panama City turned 500 years old, and I was about to complete my first ten years living in the capital city as a university student, which has allowed me to know and feel the history of the convulsive but at the same time calm tropical reality of Panama City and the country. Originally from Chiriqui. I really enjoy tourism, learning and exploring the different destinations in Panama and the world. I will be very excited to be your tourist guide when possible and to be able to share my recommendations of the season. Guruwalk routes are an alternative for visitors seeking to understand the cultural and natural diversity that inhabits Panama from a local and social perspective.
When you are visiting the province of Chiriquí , and you find yourself with free time after finishing business, walks or outdoor excursions, you may find yourself with the chance to visit the city of David.
It is an obligatory step between trips from coasts, mountains and borders due to its position on the Pan-American highway, international airport and seaport.
On the tour you will be able to get to know areas of commercial, historical and cultural interest in the central area of the city of David.
While we walk between the sites, we will see the daily life on the street , the historical buildings and we will visit the places with samples of the cultural expressions and archaeological finds made in Chiriquí.
The history of this region is vast, since before the colonial era.
This experience mixes the knowledge of the hermitage, which has experienced development and expansion for almost 200 years. We will be able to visit the rooms of La Casona , also known as the neighborhood museum, the Culturama house , which is located in a traditional 19th century house.
We will meet at the Cervantes Park to start the tour until we reach the Bolívar neighborhood , we will get to know everything from the commercial area to the historic area, where we still find the houses of rural yesteryear, art murals and the legends of Chirican history.
You can try classic sandwiches from the local gastronomy such as eggs with milk and cocadas, cheese or almojabano.
Between the months of January to April there are festivities in the region, such as the fair of Boquete, Bugaba, David, Carnivals in Dolega and Holy Week in Alanje and other towns.
I will be in front of the church
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
