Greetings from Saint Petersburg. This is your tour guide Ali in Saint Petersburg. I was born in India and came to Saint Petersburg 7 years back. This amazing city has stolen my heart therefore I decided to be here forever. I know my city and its places very well so I can show you amazing Saint Petersburg as no one can.
Introduction. Peter the Great established the city in 1703 with the building of the Peter and Paul Fortress, intending it to be his ‘Venice of the North.’ Saint Petersburg is honeycombed with historical canals and more than 300 bridges, all making a cruise along the Neva river wonderfully scenic and interesting and the drawbridges of Saint Petersburg are probably the most spectacular, so much so that their opening at dawn has become a real tourist attraction of the city. Your guide
will tell you the history of the Neva, it's bridges, channels and Saint Petersburg’s founder Peter the Great.
Highlights:
Neva Cruise and Bridge Opening. As you ride in your boat, watch for many top and prominent Saint Petersburg's attractions that flank the Neva’s waters. See the Peter and Paul Fortress that was the city’s first building, and sail by other magnificent landmarks. Click here pics of the Summer Garden with its marble statues, and of the Aurora, the 19th-century battleship that fired the first shot of the October 1917 Russian Revolution: a blank that signaled to the revolutionaries to storm the Winter Palace. Glimpse the ornate Mariinsky Theatre and pass sights including New Holland Island, St Nicholas Naval Cathedral and St Isaac’s Cathedral, the amazing Russian Orthodox church topped by a gleaming gold dome. Finally the boat will pass by the Hermitage and stop in front of Palace Bridge and enjoy here the most beautiful and amazing view of the bridge opening in Saint Petersburg. Now our boat returns to the original departure jetty, where the tour ends.
Note: Neva cruise tickets we need to book in advance.
Ticket cost: 55$ per person
